Synopsis

The Peak Forest Tramway by David Ripley. The Peak Forest tramway, an early industrial railway in Derbyshire, first oppened in 1796. The tramway was constructed to transport quarried limestone to Bugsworth Basin, where it was transferred to boats for carriage along the Peak Forest Canal to Manchester and beyond.
