Changing Tracks: The Last Signalman at Hebden Bridge by Paul Kenny.
In January 1993 aged forty, the author attended his first signalling induction course in Leeds. As part of his training he was allocated to Kildwick to work alongside more experiened signalmen. In March of the same year he worked at Kildwick signal box by himself. Following the Kildwick box demolition, Paul worked at Cononley before being transfered to Hebden Bridge, where he remained for over twenty years. Kenny was the last signalman at Hebden Bridge prior to the box being closed and preserved by the Hebden Bridge Signal Box Group.
This fascinating book features details of signalling techniques, memories of former colleagues and a wealth of anecdotes of working as a signalman.
