Reginald Stanley returned back to the UK in 1866 after makimg his fortune in the American gold rush. He purchased a brick making business in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Over the next couple of decades Stanley Brothers Ltd expanded the brick making business as well as venturing into coal mining and engineering.
