Reminiscences of a Trainspotter by David Wardale. The story of Wardale’s “passage through the 1960s” and his obsession with steam as it disappeared from the rails.

The photographs within this book cover the decade of the 1960s, which started with British Railways largely steam on mainline services and ended with it all gone. The lines of all four of the BR regions in London – Eastern, London Midland, Western and Southern – were frequently visited.

Southern became the favourite with trips to outlying stations such as Clapham Junction or from family holidays. Frequent trips were also taken further afield to view exotic locomotive classes never seen in London.

Includes more than one hundred black and white photographs.
