The Tale of a Tattoo: The Construction of Corris No. 7 by Peter Guest.

This book follows the first ten years of the Tattoo locomotive project. Early in 1994, the germ of an idea was taking place. The Corris Railway, as yet not open for passenger services and with an incomplete stretch of line running from Corris village to Maespoeth engine shed, needed a steam locomotive. It possessed two functional diesel locomotives, but Corris needed to be able to run a steam service to replicate as nearly as possible, the steam days of ‘old’ Corris.

Following an extensive search accross the UK for such an engine, it was eventually decided to have a new loco built. The Tattoo Locomotive Project was born.
