2003 marks the thirtieth anniversary of the closure of Somerset’s last coal mine. Over the years, the legacy of the mining heritage has become something much treasured by the people who lived and worked in the industry. The memories and experiences of those involved directly or indirectly by coal mining in the area are now told with contributions from 18 residents.
